Zombies are world-reknown flesh-eaters of the night that can only be killed by a head-shot is what people usully think, but in this game they have a second weakness which may sound strange: water, which is very scarce in Die2Nite and should be conserved for both Drinking and Fighting.
Zombies at NightEdit
Zombies can be found during the day, but they are most feared at night when they attack your city. They come in hordes of unspeakable numbers and attack daily. But do not fear, defenses are here! Defenses in the game block zombies at night, these can be improved to block each and every zombie out, although zombie hordes can get very large and powerful and can overcome them, so be sure to have at least a little backup in your house to be sure you don't die easily.
Zombie Defense FormulaEdit
The zombie defense formula goes: Zombies[1 zombie=1 point] - Towns basic defenses[5 points] + defensive objects[1 object=2 points] + civilian housing[your house=normal houses defenses while other house defenses=half normal defenses] + Building Defenses (see Buildings for more information)
Some defensive objects last only one day(e.g torches) while others last until the town dies(e.g. cardoors)
Zombies During the DayEdit
Zombies during the day are hazardous, and should be avoided at all costs. The map can only provide so much live information,(see The Map for more details) so you should always have a weapon of somesort and have the courage and dignity to call for help when you need it.
Zombie vs. Human FormulaEdit
The zombie vs. human formula is simple and goes like this: No. of Humans x 2 vs. No. of Zombies x 1; this formula is easily changed by weapons(see items for list of weapons), statuses(see statuses for formula changing statuses), and professional or defensive items(see items for riotshield and defensive items).
Zombies on the MapEdit
Zombies are spotted on the map daily and are either spotted and marked by humans or the watchtower, these spottings get more detailed with watchtower advancements(see buildings) and by community co-operation with markers.
